Renowned tech tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed some key specifications of Huawei’s upcoming foldable smartphone without revealing its name. The device features a dual-cell battery design comprising two battery units—one rated at 3590mAh and the other at 1805mAh. Together, the total rated capacity reaches 5395mAh, with a typical value estimated around 5500mAh, indicating a notable improvement in battery life over its predecessor.

The tipster further shows assumptions that to compensate for the not-so-massive battery capacity, Huawei may implement software and hardware optimization, including lower-voltage shutdown at 2.8V, enhancing discharge efficiency, and maximizing usable power. “The company is also likely to introduce a customized power management architecture paired with a self-developed system to further reduce power consumption,” DCS further added.
Based on Huawei’s existing foldable lineup and the timing of the leak, the model in question is most likely the Huawei Mate X7, expected to launch in the second half of 2025, alongside the Huawei Mate 80 series. The device will reportedly replace the Huawei Mate X6, which debuted at the end of 2024. Early estimates place the starting price above RMB 10,000, maintaining Huawei’s premium pricing for its foldables. As anticipation builds, the Huawei Mate X7 is shaping up to be a refined and power-efficient addition to Huawei’s premium foldable portfolio.
While specifics about the Mate X7’s design and hardware are still under wraps, the Mate X6 specifications offer a possible reference. The Mate X6 featured a 9.9mm folded thickness and 4.6mm when unfolded, with a total weight of 239g. It came equipped with a 7.93-inch internal display and a 6.45-inch external screen, both supporting LTPO adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The Mate X6 also boasted a versatile rear camera array, including a 50MP ultra-light variable lens, 40MP ultra-wide, 48MP telephoto macro, and a 1.5 million pixel multispectral color camera, with support for 4x optical zoom. Both the internal and external displays housed 8MP front cameras.
